WASH intervensions

Safely managed sanitation at Mukuyu Primary School

Mukuyu Primary school children  were the first recipients  of our WASH interventions.

The construction of the school's washrooms began in Feb 2018 after a ceremonial groundbreaking  event with the community and a team from Hand of Progress e.V. Germany. It has been in operation since 2018. It is well maintained and the children are well cared for.

Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) interventions

Young mothers getting a second chance

Young men and women drop out of school for  reasons ranging from lack of school fees to unplanned parenthood.

The Sitatunga Polytechnic offers practical skills to young adults in tailoring, auto mechanics, carpentry etc. Most young mothers for example attend classes with their children for lack of choice.

Lack of safe sanitation and clean water exposes the adults and their children to unnecessary health risks.  Hand of Progress e.V. hopes wamts to support this noble cause by building spacious washrooms and bringing clean water to the polytechni before the end of 2021.
